AESQbox

Generate into or monitor from your AES digital sound system with this handy tool. Also doubles as a quality A/D and D/A converter and impedance transformer.

"Receive" Section
  • Receives 32k, 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k, 96k, 176.4k, and 192kHz.

  • Identifies Pro/Consumer mode, sample rate and faults.

  • Converts AES digital to analog and outputs the analog via built in speaker or Line Out / Headphone jack.

"Transmit" Section
  • Transmits 48k, 96k and 192kHz.

  • Generate AES digital from analog Line In jack, built in dual tone generator or built in condenser microphone.

"Other"
  • Transmit and Receive sections can be used simultaneously or can be set to "Pass Through" where the AESQbox is acting like a repeater.

  • "Cable Test" Mode allows the operator to pass the digital signal through a cable and back into the AESQbox to verify cable integrity and bandwidth capability.

AESQbox44.1

  • For those that require native output generation of 44.1kHz or 88.2kHz sample rate.
    (Original AESQbox generates 48k, 96k or 192kHz).

  • Still recognizes and passes through various input sample rates - 32k, 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k, and 96kHz.
    (Original AESQbox recognizes 32k, 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k, 96k, 176.4k, and 192kHz).

Qbox
Generate into or monitor from your analog sound system at ANY point with this one indispensible tool.

Since its introduction in 1997 the Qbox has become one of Whirlwind's most successful "Black Boxes" ever.

The Qbox is the all-in-one audio line tester ideal for applications such as live sound, maintenance, installation work - anywhere audio runs down a cable. The Qbox includes a microphone, a speaker, a test tone generator, outputs for standard headphones, a 1/4" jack for line-in or a 2k Ohm (telephone) earpiece out. A handy clip attaches the Qbox to your belt or equipment rack.

Simply generate into or listen to audio at any point in your system from the mics to the power amps to quickly confirm which sections are working and which ones aren't. The Qbox can quick-check dynamic mics and cables without firing up the entire system. Use the bult in mic or tone generator at three different levels for activating a signal path or identifying a specific cable in a pile of cable ends. Powered by a single standard 9V alkaline battery and housed in rugged ABS, the Qbox is light yet able to withstand the wear and tear of fieldwork.

For an instant hands-free intercom, just plug in headphones and hook up one Qbox on each end of a line and use the built-in microphone.

Use it to monitor a standard 3-wire intercom feed - LEDs confirm the presence of intercom or phantom power.

Use it as a squawk box to the stage from the main audio console during set-up. Works in a pinch as a handy, portable, powered monitor too.

The SOURCE section of the Qbox lets you send a tone or the signal from the built-in condenser mic at mic or line levels.

The SPEAKER volume control lets you confirm incoming signals at mic or line level.

A handy MONITOR switch allows the user to listen to a balanced signal or to two separate unbalanced signals on pin 2 or 3 (referenced to pin 1), such as a two-channel intercom.

A SPLIT switch disconnects the two XLRs from each other so tone or internal mic can be sent out of one XLR while you listen to what's coming back on the other. Or connect the XLRs together and "loop-through" or daisy-chain units.

DCT-9 - Cable Tester

The DCT-9 cable tester provides a fast and accurate way to automatically test many varieties of cables. The digital test program analyzes cables for correct wiring and displays any faults on the numeric display. A built in test tone oscillator generates 440 Hz and 1 kHz tones for basic signal path tracing.

  • Tests:
    • XLR
    • RCA phono
    • RJ-45
    • 1/4" TS
    • 1/4" TRS
    • BNC
    • TT Patch
    • NL4
    • 1/8" TRS

  • Hands free automatic testing.

  • Indicates several fault types including shorts, opens and crosswired conductors.

  • Automatic shutoff preserves battery life.

DMX 35 - DMX Cable Tester

This cable tester checks 3 and 5 pin XLR DMX lighting cables and also indicates the presence of the DMX DATA signal when connected to a functioning control line.

3 pin XLR jacks also test microphone cables for opens, shorts or reversed connections.

This versatile cable tester checks many varieties of audio cables. It tests most cable combinations of XLR, 1/4" or RCA Phono plugs for shorts, opens, and polarity reverse. The handsfree design allows manipulation of the cable to locate intermittents. An On/Off switch is provided, with an LED to indicate sufficient testing power. Belt clip included .
MCT-7 CABLE TESTER

This diagnostic cable tester has connectors for analyzing almost any type of cable combination. The convenient rotary switch allows testing of each conductor within the cable and can determine the internal wiring configuration. Tests NL4, 5 pin DIN, BNC, XLR, TRS, RCA and 3.5 mm types.
SC48RJ
NL4 / NL8 / RJ45 / XLR TESTER

The SC48RJ Tester provides rapid, positive testing for NL4 and NL8 type multiline speaker cables, RJ45 type data cables and XLR cables.

Rotating the central switch applies voltage to the cable conductors one at a time. A SEND LED indicates the pin to which the voltage is being applied, and a RECEIVE LED indicates where it returns, clearly revealing, shorts, opens and cross-wires.
