Can I Supervise the Maiden Voyage?
About 100 panels of various configurations, custom built and wired by Whirlwind for Miami Audio Visual (Miami, FL) were installed in the new Carnival Spirit cruise ship constructed by the Kvaerner Group, Inc.
The largest of the shipyards, Masa-Yards in Finland, is amongst others, currently building a series of 'eagle' class cruise ships for Royal Caribbean . These vessels, at 142,000 gross tonnes and capable of carrying 5,000 passengers and crew, they are the largest cruise ships in the world!
After successful sea trials including nearly 100 different tests, the Carnival Spirit was sent back to the yard in Helsinki for final outfitting and was handed over to Carnival Cruise Lines, Inc. in April 2001.
